What is Active Recreation?​​​​​​​

Active recreation is non-competitive physical activity for the purpose of wellbeing and enjoyment.

This includes activities like walking, swimming, cycling, equipment-based exercise, fishing, running and yoga which can occur independently or with the involvement of a ‘provider’ group or organisation. (Sport NZ)
