Taranaki’s 36-32 victory over Tasman at home in the final capped a fairytale season in 2014. It had been 24 years since a team outside the five main centres had won an NPC title. The team, featuring Charlie Ngatai, Cody Rei, James Marshall and Waisake Noholo was coached by Colin Cooper.
