Jason Eaton was an All Blacks ‘bolter’ in 2005, after just 25 second division games for Manawatū and 10 first division games for Taranaki. Eaton made a strong start in his first tests and had a big 2006 season in Super Rugby. He won all the tests he played in 2006 but missed the 2007 Rugby World Cup with a knee injury. He was recalled for the 2008 Northern Tour and played for the Junior All Blacks in 2009. After 2010 he did not get another national call up but he was named Taranaki player of the year after helping the team win the Ranfurly Shield in 2011. He played 51 games for Taranaki and made 89 Hurricanes appearances. He was also selected for the Māori All Blacks and played four seasons for La Rochelle in France.
