Secondary School Workforce Project

The School Sport Workforce initiative aims to identify the needs of schools, clubs, and RSO’s within the coaching and officiating space. The Workforce will look to achieve the following outcomes:

  1. Increase the number of student coaches/officials within a sport identified by a school
  2. Skill development, education and support for new and existing coaches/officials within a specified sport identified by a school
  3. Pathways for new and existing coaches/officials within a specified sport identified by a school
  4. Programmes that link clubs/RSO’s/ primary/intermediate schools and the local community with secondary schools

The School Sport Workforce is a joint initiative between TSSSA and Sport Taranaki. Schools are encouraged to work closely with the Regional Sports Director (TSSSA) and the Community Sport Advisor (Sport Taranaki) when planning and completing the application process.

If you would like more information about the Secondary Schools Workforce project or want to know how your school can be involved please contact our Youth Sport Development Manager.
