The Let’s Go Cycle and Scooter Skills Training are free programmes funded by the New Plymouth District Council to schools within the New Plymouth district.

Sport Taranaki is the programme administrator and it is delivered by the Taranaki Good Sports Trust.

Let's Go Scooter Skills Course

This course is perfect for primary school students from New Entrants to Year 4. It involves a one off 90 minute session that aims to increase the safety of children on scooters and other footpath users.

Let's Go Cycle Skills Training Programme

This programme is targeted towards Year 5 - 8 students and involves two different Grades. We advise that the students do both Grades. They should not be able to do Grade 2 without completing Grade 1.

Grade 1: A full school day programme on the school grounds. It involves bike checks for and teaches students how to ride safely and use road signals.

Grade 2: A full school day programme in the quiet neighbouring streets and walkways near the school putting their skills from Grade 1 into practice.
