Plenty of fun and games are in store around the region as the Taranaki Masters Games kicks off again in 2024.

The Games, sponsored by Taranaki Electricity Trust and co-ordinated by Sport Taranaki, will feature 16 different codes across March and April, giving seasoned competitors and social players many options get involved.

Games Co-ordinator Chloe Wilkinson said many sports were offering a range of age categories and competition levels to give everyone the best chance to compete.

“It’s all about giving people the chance to get active and get stuck in. We’ve got a great range of sports fronting up and being part of the games, everything from dog agility to darts.”

Age eligibility varies between codes but typically Masters age competitors are from 30+. Volleyball has a 25+ age limit as well. With competition venues in Stratford, Waitara Inglewood, Hawera and New Plymouth there is sure to be some action close to home to suit most people.

It’s a great chance for people to try out a Games combo to make the most of it.

“Why not try some athletics, have a go at speed golf and jump on the field with some mates for some football?”, Chloe says.
