Grant has a passion for all sports. He has a wealth of governance and sporting experience, having played, officiated, coached and administered in many codes including basketball, golf, surfing, cycling, rugby league, cricket, rugby, hockey, table tennis, snooker, netball, football, tennis and running.
Rochelle is passionate about the role of sport and exercise in the development of young people and building healthy communities. Sport Taranaki’s vision aligns with her focus on overall well-being, including mental health, nutrition, exercise, and being connected into the community. Rochelle has played netball, hockey, and tennis at a representative level and has competed in athletics, cross country, and various other sports. She is a keen runner and loves spending time outdoors, going to the beach, and watersports. She also brings her experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer and knowledge of governance to the board.
With many years experience across multiple sporting codes, Susan brings enthusiasm and passion to her support of a community rich in sport. Born and raised in Taranaki, Susan has had wide involvement in both mainstream and evolving sports. As a player and coach (including a decade of coaching Inline Hockey), and through her governance roles, she strongly believes in the positive effects of sport and sees physical activity as key to wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle. Susan is a Chartered Accountant working primarily with charities and not-for-profit organisations. She is a board member of Swimming Taranaki and a NZSCTA Premium Coach, assisting with her local swimming club. She enjoys skiing, mountain biking, the gym and watching her sons compete in grassroots sport.
Jane brings a cheerful energy to the board. She has a lifelong connection to sport through her netball career and her four energetic children who participate in a variety of sports. She promotes hauora as a philosophy and understands the contribution sports and active recreation can make to it. Jane has a strong presence in the netball community through her coaching and mentoring and is active in the wider community with a strong background in operational management and finance.
A semi-retired farmer, I have lived in Hawera for over 40 years.
As a former rugby coach and school principal, I am keen for Sport Taranaki to continue to develop its capability to provide indepth support for the hundreds of volunteer coaches and administrators who give of their time to provide sporting and leisure opportunities for the young people of the province.
I am proud to have been born and bred in Taranaki and I have strong sense of commitment to the province and the South and Central Taranaki area in particular. I believe that our province and it’s people are the equal of any other. This is the conviction I have lived by throughout my career in education and the coaching of sport and is the basis of my approach to the role of trustee of Sport Taranaki.
Phillippa wants to make a difference in the lives of young people through her board service. She is a Chartered Accountant (Fellow) and has a Master of Public Policy. Phillippa brings many years of experience in finance, audit, risk and strategic planning.
David Bublitz is the New Plymouth District Council representative on the board.

Robert is also a member of the South Taranaki Coastguard and Chairman of the Te Mahana Trust -which runs a rest home in Pātea. He is the South Taranaki District Council representative on the board.
Jono is the Stratford District Council representative on the board. He proudly represents the Stratford District to ensure there is a level ‘playing field’ for everyone in Taranaki. Jono is a School Community Officer who teaches in Central and South Taranaki schools. He is a strong advocate for everyone to be active in sport in some way and is himself actively involved in a range of sports in the Stratford area.
