The Let’s Go Cycle and Scooter Skills Training are free programmes funded by the New Plymouth District Council to schools within the district
Let's Go Scooter Skills Course
This addressed to primary school students in the New Entrants to Year 4 classes. It involves a one off 1.5 hour session /class and aims to increase the safety of children and other footpath users.
Let's Go Cycle Skills Training Programme
This a programme is addressed to Year 5-Yr 8 students and involves 2 Grade 1x1.5 hour sessions on the school grounds followed by 3-4x 1.5h Grade 2 sessions in quiet neighbouring streets and local walkways.
Train the Trainers Workshop
A 2.5 hour professional development opportunity for teachers and volunteers delivered at the school, usually during a staff meeting evening. Teachers and volunteers learn to deliver the Grade 1 of the cycle skills training themselves, using instruction and role-play with a team of trainers. This programme offers free resources and training.
It is also possible for schools wanting to deliver the Grade 1 Training themselves in their own school to use the trailer and spare bikes when not in use by the trainers for other deliveries.

Let's Get Going Cycle Skills Programme - (for 3-6 Year Olds)
Let’s Get Going is a Sport Taranaki programme delivered free of charge to children aged 3-6 in Early Childhood Centres and Primary Schools. It's designed to give children aged 3-6 the skills, information and motivation to progress towards riding a bike independently. It develops confidence and encourages a life-long enjoyment of riding. Let’s Get Going consists of 5 x 1 hour sessions delivered once a week over 5 consecutive weeks.
