Aotearoa Bike Challenge

Date: 1-28 February 2018

A fun, free challenge to encourage you and your colleagues to experience first-hand the joys and benefits of riding a bike.  Organisations across the country will compete against each other to see who can get the most staff to ride a bike for just 10 minutes or more over the month of February. Fantastic prizes on offer to tempt your team.  Register at www.lovetoride.net


Velo Deus 20

Date: Friday 2 March. 5.30 pm - 7.30pm

Venue:Egmont St  

FREE. A good old fashioned bike race. Velo Deus 20 or Bike Gods 20 is a retro bicycle teams race open to riders of 20 inch wheel bicycles pre 1990. Get a team together for 20 short fast laps on Egmont St. Dress to match your Raleigh 20, Healing Cruiser, Morrison Metro, Chopper or other homemade 20 inch classic. Registrations from Feb. 1st at Jetcharm Barbershop Egmont St. Limited number of bikes available to early registrations. 


New Zealand Cycle Festival Taranaki 2018

Date:  Taranaki Anniversary Weekend, 9-12 March

Various venues

The Festival includes a ‘100K Flyer’ Surf Highway 45 ride from Hawera to New Plymouth, bike expo, movie night, criterion race and a ‘Frocks on Bikes’ ride.

Date: 14 March. Race 1: 6.30pm.

Venue: Meet at the park boundary Egmont Rd to race toNorth Egmont visitor centre

Monday Night Fun Race Series #1

Time: registrations from 5.30pm, race starts 6pm.

Venue: Mangamahoe Club Tracks, Plantation Road, Egmont Village.

Time: Meet at 6.30pm

Venue: Lake Mangamahoe, Bottom car park on Plantation Road. Strong lumen lights essential.

Time: 6.30pm

Venue: Meet at the Wind Wand.  Finishing at Crowded House for light refreshments. Good lights essential.


Monthly Working Bee

Dates:  TBC

Time: 9am-2pm

Venue: Busing Forest, end of Scout Road, off Kent Rd.

Help create a sustainable, safe  and fun off-road environment for riders of all ages and ability levels to ride on. Bring tools such as spade, line trimmers, cutters, wheelbarrows etc if you have them. All welcome.
