SCPAP - School Community Physical Activity Project

SCPAP is a nationwide project involving 65 schools.  In Taranaki, 5 schools are involved in 2007.  They are Fitzroy, St.John Bosco, Tawhiti, Waitara Central and Waitara East.

The purpose of SCPAP is to enable children in learning communities to experience and choose to participate in relevant physical activities as a lifelong practice.

The project has 3 main aims:

  • to ensure there is an effective physical activity culture within the learning community
  • to ensure student learning is purposeful, has meaning, and is applied in physical activity practices
  • to ensure learning communities offer a sustainable range of enjoyable and relevant physical activities
